据史载: 中国◎沈阳，西汉时期已具城市轮廓，称“侯城”;唐代改称“沈州”;公元921年，辽太祖移民至此修筑土城;金代时期金太祖攻占沈洲，沿用“沈州”之名;1296年，元代重建土城，改沈洲为“沈阳路”，归辽阳行省管辖，由于沈阳地处沈水（浑河）之北，以中国传统方位论，即“山北为阴，水北为阳”，故改沈洲为沈阳。从此，“沈阳”这一名称正式出现在史料上，距今已有702年的历史。1386年，明朝改“沈阳路”为“沈阳中卫”;1625年，清太祖努尔哈赤把都城从辽阳迁到沈阳，并在沈阳城内着手修建皇宫（今沈阳故宫）;1643年，清太宗皇太极改“沈阳”为“盛京”;1644年，清朝迁都北京后，沈阳为陪都;1657年 ，清朝以“奉天承运”之意在沈阳设奉天府，沈阳又名“奉天”;1911年，辛亥革命后，沈阳成为奉系军阀统治的首府;1923年，正式设立奉天市政公所，沈阳首次出现市的建制;1929年 张学良在“东北易帜”后，改“奉天市”为“沈阳市”;1931年，日本帝国主义发动“九•一八事变”并侵占沈阳后，又将“沈阳市”改为“奉天市”;1945年 抗日战争胜利，“奉天市”恢复“沈阳市”名称;1948年11月2日， 沈阳正式解放。1953年 沈阳市改为中央直辖市;1954年，沈阳市改为辽宁省辖市;1964年，中共辽宁省委决定设立沈阳专区;1993年， 原铁岭市的法库、康平县划归沈阳管辖，新民县撤县建市。至今， 沈阳市辖和平、沈河、大东、皇姑、铁西、于洪、苏家屯、东陵（浑南）新区、沈北新区和棋盘山开发区10个市区以及新民、辽中、法康、康平4个县（市）。
把沈阳建设成为中国的重要城市，人居适宜、人与自然和谐、生态文明与精神文明之都，是每一个沈阳人的责任。沈阳市文联有《诗潮》双月刊弛名诗坛;有女诗人火凤凰创建的《沈阳头条》文学专栏，誉满海外诗坛。

一如既往、九死未悔，那墙角数枝
梅，遭遇了寒苦，却笑在、花眠中
秋冬色如铁，人间多雨雪
美姬身心故，冰肌玉骨清
动月黄昏里，众芳非独宠
流韵在云桥，天边灿小星
定定天涯日一一层冰
积雪消，春来更葱茏
一朵先开放，初生为元绽
花开如亨泰，结子利畅通
当花瓣离花朵，暗香自绕魂
经雨雪风霜浸，落红非无情
化作春泥处，新生伴丽影
匆匆四季里，梅主常问情
春意嘤嘤，夏日炎炎，秋风
瑟瑟起一一冬雪茫茫覆红粉
美肌如雪，扑我颊面，一醉香凝
独得美姬幻逸仙，不顾窗棱撒冷

As always, died many times without regret, the Plum blossom at the wall corner, is suffering from cold, but still laughing, sleeping
Autumn and Winter are like iron, no fear of rain and snow
The beauty's body and mind are still the same, with ice skin and jade bone
In the moonlit evening, not only flowers are blossoming, but also stars are flashing over clouds and bridges
As a layer of ice settles on the horizon
Snow is disappearing, green Spring is coming
One bud opens，as coming first,
To be so lucky, with smooth and easy birth
When petals are off from flowers, their fragrance continues to fly,
After rain, snow and wind, the falling red is still touching
Turned into Spring mud, the beauty is in a new life
In the rush of four seasons, the Plum blossom is often asking for love
Through blossoming Spring, hot Summer and windy Autum,
Sorrow from snowy Winter is to cover the red beauty
The beauty's skin is like snow, pouncing on my cheeks, making me intoxicated,
I am dreaming to dedicate to the beauty, regardless of iced cold out of the window
