笑看风云，世扰纷争。大千世界，无奇不有。看透世态炎凉，人情冷暖自知。芸芸众生，多半人心不古；善恶不分，黑白颠倒，心怀叵测，以强凌弱，仗势欺人，反其道而行之，违悖天理，犊子不可教也。遇事不决，胆小怕事者，比比皆是，瞻前顾后，明哲保身，隐退江湖险恶，防患于未然。古人有卓识，今看俗人不如古，人生何处是归途？
人生如梦，不觉有年。世事无常，坐的端，行的正，方可心安理得。古人云：“积德行善必有余庆，做恶多端必遭天谴”。大丈夫生于天地之间，不走旁门左道，不攀附权贵，不节外生枝，安身立命，粗茶淡饭，高枕无忧；潇洒经营糊涂过，此去半生又如何？百年终老，是非曲直，且待后人评说。

Half a Lifetime Gone, Sighing Over a Floating Life

I laugh at the winds and clouds, at the chaos and strife of the world. In this vast universe, nothing is too strange to exist. Having seen through the coldness of human society, one knows well the warmth and coldness of human feelings. Among the multitudes, most have lost their innate goodness; they cannot distinguish good from evil, invert black and white, harbor malicious intentions, bully the weak with strength, abuse power to oppress others, act contrary to reason, violate the principles of heaven—such fools are beyond redemption. Those who hesitate when faced with trouble, who are cowardly and fear misfortune, are everywhere: they overthink, look ahead and behind, seek safety in caution, retreat from the dangers of the world, and guard against trouble before it arises. The ancients had profound insight; now I see that common folk are not equal to the ancients. Where, in this life, is the way home?
Life is like a dream; unknowingly, years have passed. The world is impermanent. Only by sitting upright and walking straight can one have a clear conscience. As the ancients said: "Accumulating virtue and doing good will surely bring lasting blessings; committing countless evils will surely incur divine retribution." A great man, born between heaven and earth, does not take devious paths, does not curry favor with the powerful, does not stir up unnecessary trouble. He settles down and makes a living with simple tea and plain meals, sleeping soundly without worry. Living freely, muddling through wisely—so what if half a lifetime has passed? When one reaches the end of a hundred years, right and wrong, truth and falsehood, will be left to posterity to judge.

Chen Yongjiang, a native of Yongzhou, Hunan Province, holds a college education. He is a veteran and a calligrapher-painter.
He is a member of the China Poetry Society, the Chinese Poetry Society, and the China Couplet Society, as well as a council member of the Youth Literati Magazine Council. He is a certified poet of the China New Era Poet Archives, a contracted writer, poet and consultant of Mingpian Jinbang Toutiao, a contracted poet and writer of Classic Literature Network, and a contracted writer and poet of the World Writers Lanyunfu Poetry Society. He is also an overseas poet in Canada and has served as a judge for the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th "Canada Poetry Festival" organized by the World Poetry Alliance.
