Where Roses Dream and Love Awaits
By Leanne/ Hua Li
I long for you with every breath I take,
In tranquil afternoons where silence wakes.
Though joy of feast may linger near,
Your essence fills the atmosphere.
See, the roses on the shelf incline,
Seeking the whispers of your scent divine.
Each fleeting moment carries your trace,
A tide that sweeps to your embrace.
You on the couch, a steadfast gaze,
Or strolling downstairs through sunlit haze.
I search from above, through glass and air,
For the rose asleep in your tender care.
Should fireworks scatter the evening skies,
You’d ride their hues where dreams arise.
Through cheering woods, your arms unfold,
To wait by my window, brave and passion.
A single rose in your hand would bloom,
Its fragrance flooding my dream’s vast room.
And if I woke, the oars would still,
The sunset freeze upon the hill.
The waterfall’s rush would cease its flight,
As time bowed low to love’s pure light.
I’d wear a cloak of silken white,
A crown of blooms, both proud and slight.
Beneath your gaze, I’d bow my head,
A blush where love and shyness wed.
Turned in your arms, a tear might glide,
To fall where whispers pure abide.
Clear as a brook, your words would flow,
A warmth where icy waters go.
If swans should lift from winter’s lake,
I’d draw my bow for love’s sweet sake.
And from Canary Wharf, the echoes ring,
A song that shakes the heavens, my king.
Is it true, my love, my guiding flame?
This yearning calls your name.
