挽弓当挽强，用箭当用长。
射人先射马，擒贼先擒王。
杀人亦有限，列国自有疆。
苟能制侵陵，岂在多杀伤。
Drawing a bow, draw the one strong;
Using arrows, use the ones long.
Shooting a man, shoot his stallion;
Catching bandits, catch their chieftain.
Killing should admit of a bound;
A country should have a firm ground.
If aggression could be well stopped,
Why should so many heads be lopped?
杜甫（712年—770年），字子美，自号少陵野老，唐代伟大的现实主义诗人，与李白合称“李杜”。原籍湖北襄阳，后徙河南巩县。
DU Fu (712-770), Sir Beauty by courtesy name and Shaoling’s Old & Alone Master of None by literary name, born in Xiangyang, Hubei Province. Later he moved to Gongxian County, Henan Province. Du, a great realistic poet in the Tang dynasty, and Li Bai were known as “Li-Du”. (马宝燕 译)
