秦观（1049—1100），字少游，一字太虚，号淮海居士，高邮军武宁乡（今江苏省高邮市三垛镇）人。北宋婉约派词人。著有《淮海集》《劝善录》等。QIN Guan (1049-1100), styled Young Traveler or Heaven, Huaihai by literary name, a native of Wuning Town, Gaoyou Army (in present-day Sanduo Town, Gaoyou, Jiangsu Province). Qin was a lyricist of the Graceful and Restrained School in the Northern Song dynasty. His works include A Collection of Huaihai and A Record of Encouraging to Be Good. (王佩 译)

The hills see thin clouds pass;
The sky borders sear grass.
O'er Town Gate conk sound on and off does go.
I now stop the canoe;
To each other we toast adieu.
How many rosy hours bewitch you?
As in vain I gaze,
All around it is haze.
West of afterglow
Myriads of crows crow
Round the village a stream does flow.
My rues go with my sweet romance;
I drop my sac in trance,
A sign of whimsy prance.
The Rose Tower fame I have gained in vain, vainly won;
When can we meet now from you I'm gone?
My lappet and sleeves,
A sign of how she grieves.
With a saddened frown,
A gaze on the high town
Finds all lamplights in dusk drown.
