1、七绝 - 夏夜追凉

夜热依然午热同，
开门小立月明中。
竹深树密虫鸣处，
时有微凉不是风。
QUATRAIN - SEEKING COOL ON A SUMMER NIGHT

As it is still hot at night no less than at noon,
I open the door and stay a while in the moon.
In the depth of bamboos and trees chirp the insect,
And fits of cool might not come fro wind, I suspect.
2、七绝 - 客中初夏
宋 司马光
四月清和雨乍晴，
南山当户转分明。
更无柳絮因风起，
惟有葵花向日倾。

'Tis warm and bright in April after rain,
When the south hills across turn green again.
No willow catkin flies with the wind now,
Whilst sunflowers to the sun smile and bow.
3、七律 - 避暑纳凉
唐 钱起
木槿花开畏日长，
时摇轻扇倚绳床。
初晴草蔓缘新笋，
频雨苔衣染旧墙。
十旬河朔应虚醉，
八柱天台好纳凉。
无事始然知静胜，
深垂纱帐咏沧浪。
OCTAVE - ENJOYING THE COOL

On long dog days when hibiscuses bloom,
I wave my fan, leaning on the fold chair.
After-rain grasses twine bamboos and boom;
Frequent rain dresses old walls in moss wear.
A little drink of wine makes me half drunk;
A high terrace cools me down all day long.
Peace and quiet assure me of the heat shrunk;
In the mosquito net, I sing a (Cang Lang) song.
4、七律 - 北塘避暑
宋 韩琦
尽室林塘涤暑烦，
旷然如不在尘寰。
谁人敢议清风价，
无乐能过百日闲。
水鸟得鱼长自足，
岭云含雨只空还。
酒阑何物醒魂梦，
万柄莲香一枕山。

After washing off heat in a pond within woods,
My family click into a place unlike the earth.
Who dares to devalue the cool breeze as low goods?
No other such joy as long leisure wins the worth.
Waterfowls catch fish always to their hearts' content;
Mountain clouds hatch rain but to fly around in vain.
As I'm drunk, what can awake my soul from torment?
It's the lotus-filled pond 'n' the pillow-like mountain.
