早发白帝城

朝辞白帝彩云间，
千里江陵一日还。
两岸猿声啼不住，
轻舟已过万重山。
Adieu to Baidi City

Morning adieu from Baidi in high clouds,
Fast down to Jiangling in a single day.
Only monkeys are heard jabbering aloud,
Light boat passes by mountains like sunshine ray.

青山橫北郭，白水繞東城。

浮雲遊子意，落日故人情。
揮手自茲去，蕭蕭班馬鳴。
Farewell to a Friend

Blue mountains extend along the north of town,
A clear river to the east meanders around.
You bid farewell here once and for all,
For a lone journey of ten thousand miles.
Aimless clouds empathize with your wandering.
A setting sun shares reluctance for our parting.
Off you go now with hands waving high,
Horses are neighing towards an empty sky.
