北宋官人李之问和名妓聂胜琼的一段逸事，因琼姑娘一首《鹧鹄天》入《全宋词》，风流千古。近日见朋友转帖，稍有感发，拙和一首 (并英译) ，见笑。

怎是三更别胜琼？愁花残月卷东风。相公路远追晨晓，乍暖罗衾意正浓。

星斗散，泪颜红，多情回首叹帘栊。此生只为郎君泣，青院人空盼月同。

Why does the farewell have to be at midnight, 

East wind sweeps up sorrowful blossom with moonlight. 

For Bianjing you're leaving before dawn, 

Just as we're in the mood with the bed warmed. 

Stars are getting sparse, 

And face is cherry and teary. 

Only agonies upon gazing back at curtains and lamplight. 

I'll just weep for you this lifetime, 

In the courtyard may I adore the same moon each night.

Jade dims and flowers wither upon your departure, 

Green willows weep under lotus pavilion. 

To you I sing a tune of adieu, 

That may follow you station after station. 

Dreams pursued, 

Never transpires. 

Who would know my love and pain. 

Lonely tears flow over the pillow, 

Till the next morning falls the outside rain. 

注：据《青泥莲花记》记载：李之问仪曹解长安幕，诣京师改秩。都下聂胜琼，名倡也，质性慧黠，公见而喜之。李将行，胜琼送别，饯钦于莲花楼，唱一词，末句曰：‘无计留春住，奈何无计随君去。’李复留经月，为细君督归甚切，遂饮别。不旬日，聂作一词以寄李云云，盖寓调《鹧鸪天》也。之问在中路得之，藏于箧间，抵家为其妻所得。因问之，具以实告。妻喜其语句清健，遂出妆奁资夫取归。琼至，即弃冠栉，损其妆饰，委曲以事主母，终身和悦，无少间焉。
