Chapter 1
The Tao is not a true Tao, if phrasable;
The Name is not a true name, if namable.
Undefined, was the Beginning; Defined, was the Creation.
Mystery is revealed when free of desires,
discoveries are found when full of aspirations.
The two, differing in premises yet from identical origin, are both sensible and profound, and may lead to the universal mysteries.

Chapter 25
An undefined chaos existed, before the heaven and earth.
Without sound or shape, running eternally on its own, and all things were born from it.
Knowing not its name, I conveniently call it: Tao, and define it as Greatness.
Greatness means vast, vastness means distant, and distance means return.
Hence, the Tao is great, so is Heaven, Earth and Man.
There're four Greatnesses in the universe, and Man is one of them.
Man follows the law of Earth, Earth follows the law of Heaven, Heaven follows the Tao, and Tao follows itself.
