海上生明月，天涯共此时。
情人怨遥夜，竟夕起相思。
灭烛怜光满，披衣觉露滋。
不堪盈手赠，还寝梦佳期。
1.Gazing at the Moon ,Missing My Love Afar

The ocean gives birth to a full moon so bright,
Which sheds silver light over us oceans apart.
Yearning for thee, I resent the long long night;
Sleepless at all, how can I feel peace at heart?
The candle is snuffed; the moonlight overflows,
Luring me to step out; oh, chilly dew grows!
How can I cup moonlight as a gift for thee?
I'll resume my sleep to dream of thee smiley.
2.Nostalgia on a Moonlit Night

Arises a bright moon from the boundless sea,
In separate places watched by you and me.
The night being too long, for which I resent,
From dust (dusk) to dawn, missing you I can’t prevent.
Blowing out the candle, alone in moonlit muse,
Draping my coat, I wander about in heavy dews.
How I’d wish to present to you the silver beam,
O, better to yearn for our reunion in the dream.
3.Moon Gazing and Missing You

Above the sea, there is the shining silvery moon.
Far from me, there is you whom I want to see soon.
Oh darling, in this very long pitch-black night,
My heart is flying to you like the feather-light.
The moonlight is sweeping the floor and the candle is out.
The night dew infiltrates my garment when I walk about.
Helplessly I could not share this beautiful moonlight, my dear.
I shall return to my dream to meet you there!
【作者简介】张九龄（673年～740年）字子寿，号博物，韶州曲江（今广东韶关市）人。唐朝开元名相、政治家、文学家、诗人，西汉留侯张良之后，西晋壮武郡公张华十四世孙。他的诗风清淡，以素练质朴的语言，寄托深远的人生慨望，对扫除唐初所沿习的六朝绮靡诗风，贡献尤大。著有《曲江集》，誉为“岭南第一人”。
