in the Year of the Rat

the evil plague is raging

the Chinese people overcome

the current hardships hand in hand

Qu Yuan's request to heaven

falls into vast hopelessness

up to now, Chinese people

have undergone the vicissitude

of numerous trials and hardships

sweeping away the haze

and pulling up the horns

with one heart and one mind

to welcome the sunshine

flowers bloom in warm spring

with the sunshine so bright

there is a firm echo

in our hearts

译者简介：

无心剑，四川泸州人。南大数学专业毕业，目前在一所高职院校从事计算机编程教学工作，但是酷爱诗词翻译，在过去十来年，翻译了两千余首诗词。2006年2月翻译了西奥尼·帕帕斯的数学科普读物《天天数学》。部分翻译作品在一些刊物上发表，比如《新东方英语》、《九月诗刊》、《当代国际汉诗》、《零度诗刊》、双语季刊《诗天空》。
