《人民日报》，
余江县消灭了血丝虫。
浮想联翩，夜不能寐。
微风拂晓，旭日临窗，
遥望南天，欣然命笔。

绿水青山枉自多，
华佗无奈小虫何！
千村薜荔人遗矢，
万户萧疏鬼唱歌。
坐地日行八万里，
巡天遥看一千河。
牛郎欲问瘟神事，
一样悲欢逐逝波。
II
春风杨柳万千条，
六亿神州尽舜尧。
红雨随心翻作浪，
青山着意化为桥。
天连五岭银锄落，
地动三河铁臂摇。
借问瘟君欲何往，
纸船明烛照天烧。

FAREWELL TO THE PLAGUE GOD

In the Renmin Ribao of June 30, 1958 I read that
schistosomiasis had been wiped out in Yujiang County.
Then more thoughts came to my mind and I could not
sleep. In the breeze at dawn, as sunlight fell on my
window, I look far to the southern sky and joyfully
wrote the following verses.
I
So many green rivers and hills are not availed,
Small pests let even Hua Tuo be helpless in deed!
Hundreds of villages were deserted and full of weed.
Thousands of families died or fled and ghosts wailed，
One sits on earth n' goes eighty thousand li a day,
Surveying the sky one far sees many a Milky Way
Should the Cowherd ask something about the Plague God,
He said with time the same grief and joy flow away .
II
The spring wind blows amid myriad poplars and willows,
Six hundred million people in Shun 's n' yao 's reign.
At our will the red rain is turning up billows,,
At our wish the grassy mountains turn to bridges green.
Silvery hoes fall on the high Five Ridges up to the sky;
Irony arms rock the earth and the Three Rivers therein.
May I ask where Plague God is going, far or nigh ?
Aflame paper barges and candle-light lit th' welkin.
译者简介：赵宜忠,1966 年毕业于齐齐哈尔大学英文专业，后 又在黑龙江大学和北京二外进修两年。曾任河北省邯郸市人民 政府外办副主任，市译协副主席，省译协理事，市旅游局总经 理，一直从事翻译工作。曾任美国 L&A 水处理公司驻大庆化肥 厂总代表的首席翻译，也曾出任部委级领导，省市领导的翻译 多次出访美国，加拿大,日本，苏联，瑞士，德国等欧洲国家， 现居捷克首都布拉格。喜欢翻译古诗,曾翻译出版《邯郸成语典 故》，《邯郸画册》《韵译中国古诗 150 首》等。此外曾译古 诗近千首，多首莎翁等诗篇以及多篇现代诗歌,如阿紫的《翻阅 阳光》《锦绣》闰龙的《我是雪花》，叶舟的《祖国在上》， 玉扣子出版的《我住在鼹鼠的故乡》的英文翻译等。
About the Translator ： JOHN ZHAO Yizhong graduated from Qiqihar University in 1966, majoring in English. Later he studied at
Heilongjiang University and Beijing Second Foreign Language Institute for two years. He was the deputy director of the Foreign
Affairs Office of Handan City, Hebei Province, the vice chairman of Handan Municipal Translation Association, the director of the Hebei Provincial Translation Association, as well as the general manager of Handan Municipal Tourism Bureau. He has been an interpreter all the time. He was the chief interpreter of the general representative
of L&A Water Treatment Company in Daqing City. As an interpreter for leaders at minister-, provincial and municipal-levels, he visited the United States, Canada, Japan, the then-Soviet Union, Switzerland, Germany and other European countries. Now, he lives in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. He has translated and published “Handan Idioms and Allusions ”,"Handan Album" “Rhyme Translation of 150 Chinese Ancient Poems”and etc. In addition ， he has translated about a thousand Chinese ancient
poems , many Shakespeare poems and many modern poems, such as Ah Zi 's "Looking through the Sunshine", "The Rich Brocade",Leap Dragon's "I am snowflake", Ye Zhou 's "My Motherland's Above", and Yu Kouzi 's " I Live in the Hometown of Moles" published in English translation.
