我想看看

海子

可他还在那一头

面朝大海

独白。

我只能等到

春暖花开

等他打着赤脚回来

看他

喂马劈柴。

To See Haizi

I want to see

Haizi

But on that side he is still

Having his soliloquy

Facing the sea.

I have to wait

Till spring comes with blooms

And he returns barefoot,

And watch him

Feeding his horse and chopping wood.

* Haizi/海子 (March 24, 1964 to March 26, 1989), formerly known as Cha Haisheng, was born in Chawan village, Gaohe Town, Huaining County, Anhui Province, an outstanding Chinese contemporary young poet. On March 26, 1989, he committed suicide by lying on a track near Shanhaiguan(山海关). He was only 25 years old.
